What Is The Windermere Among The Lakes?
The Windermere Among the Lakes is a 5K & 10K Run, showcasing the beauty and charm of downtown Windermere. Runners pass under the canopy of mature Oak trees, along dirt roads, and amidst the natural beauty of the surrounding lakes, including Lake Butler, Lake Down, and Lake Bessie. This year is extra special as the town is celebrating its Centennial.
When And Where Is The 2025 Run Among The Lakes?
The event will be held on Saturday, October 11th, in downtown Windermere, Florida. Runners will meet at the Windermere Town Hall at 520 Main Street for packet pickup between 6am - 7:30am. Early pick up is available on Thursday, 10/9 or Friday, 10/10 between 3pm and 6pm. The event will kickoff with a welcome at 6:50am. The 10K starts at 7am and 5K starts at 7:35am. Following, an award ceremony will take place at 8:15am, and the Kid's Run will begin at 9am (no registration required).
Tips for Participants and Visitors
- Be sure to register in advance on the Town of Windermere's registration page, as the race is limited to the first 1,200 participants.
- All runners (except the kids' run) will receive a commemorative T-shirt and Finisher Medal.
- Arrive early to avoid road closures (recommended by 7am)
- Event Parking Suggestions:
- Family Church Parking Lot at 300 Main Street (Includes front, side, and back lots)
- Town Square Parking Lot at 119 W 5th Avenue (next to Windermere Brewing Co.)
- Central Park Parking Area at 406 Oakdale St (between 4th & 5th Streets)
- Town Admin Building Lot at 614 Main Street (in front and side dirt lot)
