Lucky for us, there are several ways to beat the heat this summer, and one of my favorites is with a delicious cold treat from one of our amazing local ice cream spots! Popsicles, slushies, ice cream, and more! Each venue offers a unique palette of flavors and something enticing for everyone to enjoy!
Allen's Creamery
Located in the heart of downtown Windermere on Main Street, Allen's is a local favorite, offering delicious flavors in a charming location. Built in 2008, this coffee and ice cream shop provides the perfect mix of excellent service, delicious products, and small-town nostalgia. Allen's offers a fun assortment of coffee drinks, ice cream, donuts, and light breakfast fare. Be sure to check out the Windermere Whirl or nitro-ice cream Cookie Monster for a truly unique option!
Scoops Old Fashioned Ice Cream
This vintage ice cream shop blends old-fashioned charm with modern-day flavors! It is not unusual to see a line at this local hot spot, and it is easy to see why! The flavors are rich, the scoops are large, and the service is delivered with a smile! Be sure to check out their Classic Vanilla or Cappuccino Crunch for a cool treat!
Jeremiah's Italian Ice
This local favorite has been serving delicious, sweet treats since 1996! The walk-up locations feature decadent Italian Ice and smooth, creamy ice cream, but Jeremiah's is ultimately known for their Gelati! This unique blend of layered Italian Ice with soft-serve ice cream. Fun flavors like Pina Colada, Scoop Froggy Frog, and Cookie Butter make this a fun and delicious treat!
West Orange Creamery
Located off Maguire Road, feel like you stepped back in time at this classic soda fountain and old-fashioned ice cream shop. The charming creamery features Hershey's ice cream and offers an assortment of sundaes, milkshakes, ice cream sodas, and egg creams. Need a jolt of energy to get through your day? Try the Cafecito with coffee or chocolate-flavored ice cream and a shot of coffee!
Twistee Treat
Everyone recognizes the iconic 25' tall ice cream come that is home to a Southwest Orlando favorite, Twistee Treat! Delicious, creamy, homemade ice cream at unbelievable prices! Since 1983, Twistee Treat has been delighting locals with cones, cakes, and milkshakes. Twistee Treat has multiple locations and one right off Maguire Road. Indulge in favorites like the Classic Banana Split, the Brownie Boat, or my personal favorite, the M&M Twirl!
Bruster's Real Ice Cream
Since 1989, Bruster's Real Ice Cream has been making delicious frozen treats the old-fashioned way, with slow kettle processing and a unique proprietary mix! This local ice cream store boasts a variety of premium ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet flavors, and artisan desserts made right in the store. Brusters also serves non-dairy ice cream made from coconut milk for those avoiding dairy! Crunchy waffle cones, banana splits, and ice cream sandwiches made from Oreos are just a few of these delectable treats!
