An Inside Look at Horizon West Parks
With the growth of Winter Garden and Horizon West over the last several years, in addition to new construction communities, roadways, and businesses, new local parks have popped up. Horizon West Regional Park, which has been opening in phases since early 2026, and the newest, Watermark Park, which opened on August 31st, 2026. These parks give area residents more ways to get outdoors, explore, and connect with neighbors. Let's take a closer look at Horizon West's parks and see just one of the many reasons locals love calling Horizon West home.
Watermark Park: Horizon West's Newest Neighborhood Park
Watermark Park, located at the corner of Summerlake Groves St & Seidel Road, across from Panther Lake Elementary School, celebrated its grand opening on Monday, August 31, 2026. This 5.69-acre park adjacent to Panther Lake features:
- Fitness paths with interactive equipment
- Shaded and inclusive playground
- Pavilion with picnic tables and grill
- Open recreation area
Neighboring communities like Lakeshore and Watermark Community are near the park. Lakeshore residents are within 0.15 miles of the park, and the Watermark neighborhood is located just across Siedel Road from the park entrance. A section of Watermark townhomes are adjacent to the park, with easy access.
Horizon West Regional Park
Horizon West Regional Park is located just north of Hamlin Town Center, a popular area for shopping, dining, and services. This 215-acre park at Hamlin Groves Trail and Mann Road is being constructed in phases, with the first phase opened in early 2026. This phase included the following amenities:
- Playground with partially shaded play equipment
- Pavilion with picnic tables and grills
- Restrooms
- Parking
Construction of the next phase began in June 2026 and will feature a splash pad, kayak and canoe launch, and additional parking to support future events, including a farmers market. Future phases planned include sports fields and courts, exercise stations, walking paths, a dog park, a floating dock with fishing pier on Lake Hartley, and more.
Which Winter Garden communities are closest to the Horizon West Regional Park? Orchard Hills, Enclave at Hamlin, Overlook at Hamlin, Hamlin Reserve, Hamilton Gardens, and Independence are a few of the closest to the park, with several additional neighborhoods close by with easy access.
Summerlake Park
Summerlake Park is south of Hamlin Town Center in the Horizon West community off Porter Road, adjacent to Summerlake Elementary School. This 5-acre park features these amenities:
- Exercise stations
- Walking path
- A pavilion with picnic tables and grills
- Shaded playground
The park is within the Summerlake neighborhood and is also nearby the Sanctuary at Hamlin and Isles of Lake Hancock communities.
Independence Park
Located next to Independence Elementary School off New Independence Parkway is Independence Park, a 6-acre park featuring the following:

- Shaded playground
- Walking paths
- Community dog park with sections for large and small dogs
- Covered area with picnic tables
This park is centrally located in the Independence community and is close to the Vineyards community and the Palms at Windermere neighborhood, located just under 2 miles away.
Summerport Park
This 6-acre Windermere park in Horizon West is within the Summerport community off Bridgewater Crossings Boulevard west of Keenes Pheasant Drive. What can residents find in Summerport Park?
- Open grassy area

- Dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs
- Exercise stations
Summerport, Independence, and Orchard Hills are the closest communities to this park and are easily accessible. In addition, the park is adjacent to Keene's Crossing Elementary School.
Deputy Scott Pine Community Park
Deputy Scott Pine Community Park is located off Ficquette Road in Horizon West and features a football field, a multi-purpose field (including soccer), and a track. Nearby communities include Independence, Vineyards, Windermere Terrace, Summerlake, and Palms at Windermere.
Bentonshire Park

Located at Overstreet Road and Bentonshire Avenue in Windermere, the 5-acre Bentonshire Park opened in July of 2025 and features the following:
- Shaded playground
- Pavilion with picnic tables and charcoal grills
- Dog park
- Walking path.
Surrounded by the Wickham Park community, Windermere Sound, and Lakes of Windermere, many residents are within excellent proximity to this park.
Lakeside Village Park
Lakeside Village Park is located off Lake Spar between Village Lake Road and Iron Mountain Trail behind the Lakeside Village Shopping Center. This park features several amenities including:
- Large open recreation area
- Shaded playground
- Covered area with picnic tables and a charcoal grill.
The community of Windermere Trails is located adjacent to the park with easy access for residents.
Taborfield Park
Located off Reams Road between Thatcher Avenue and Taborfield Avenue is Taborfield Park, a 6.5-acre park. What can locals find at Taborfield Park?

- Walking path

Located adjacent to Castleview Elementary School, this park is also centrally located near the communities of Royal Estates, Royal Estates Townhomes, Thornhill, and Mabel Bridge
Future Horizon West Parks
Horizon West has additional parks planned, including the 5-acre Silverleaf Park located on the west side of the 429 near Hamlin at Silver Grove Boulevard, west of Avalon Road and across from Hamlin Middle School. The proposed conceptual master plan includes the following:
- Shaded playground
- Pavilion with picnic tables and grill
- Walking path with benches
- Pickleball/tennis court
Silverleaf Reserve, Hamlin Ridge, and Hamlin Pointe are among the closest communities to this upcoming park.
Also, a bit further south, two neighborhood parks are proposed in the Waterleigh community, which is home to more than 3,500 homes. The north park will be five acres, and the conceptual master plan includes:
