Tons of exciting news was announced earlier this month at Destination D23, one of the biggest annual Disney fan events at The Contemporary Resort. Here are the major updates coming to Walt Disney World Parks:
EPCOT
- Figment Meet and Greet: Beginning September 10, 2023, guests can meet Figment inside the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT.
- Test Track Reimagination: Test Track at EPCOT will undergo a reimagining inspired by the original World of Motion.
- "Luminous The Symphony of Us": A new nighttime spectacular, "Luminous The Symphony of Us," is coming to EPCOT on December 5, 2023, featuring all-new fireworks, lasers, fountains, and music.
- Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana: Opening on October 16, 2023, this walk-through experience in EPCOT's World Nature area is inspired by Moana and focuses on understanding and preserving the natural world.
- Moana's Appearance: On the same day as Journey of Water's opening, Moana will make her debut in her dedicated home near Journey of Water.
- World Celebration at EPCOT: The World Celebration neighborhood will welcome guests in December 2023, connecting the other two new neighborhoods, World Discovery and World Nature.
Animal Kingdom
- Reimagination of Dinoland U.S.A.: Walt Disney Imagineering is planning to transform Dinoland U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom into a new land inspired by the "tropical Americas" region.
- "Encanto" and Indiana Jones: Disney's Animal Kingdom is considering new experiences inspired by the Academy Award-winning film "Encanto" and the beloved adventurer Indiana Jones for its reimagined land.
Hollywood Studios
- Ahsoka is set to join the cast of our beloved Star Tours attraction in the Spring of 2024 at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida and is based on the original Disney+ series.
Magic Kingdom
- Hatbox Ghost: The Haunted Mansion attraction in Florida will welcome the Hatbox Ghost in late November 2023, with the ghost appearing in the Endless Hallway.
- Magic Kingdom Expansion: Disney has ambitious expansion plans for Magic Kingdom in Florida, promising attractions, restaurants, shows, and more on a grand scale
- Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Lounge: A new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge is coming to Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park, extending the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.
- Country Bear Jamboree: In 2024, the Country Bear Jamboree will feature new songs and a new act, reinterpreting Disney songs in different country music genres while maintaining their classic, friendly tone.
