Disney World has unveiled an array of exciting expansions and new attractions during the D23 Fan Event, offering fans a glimpse into the future of the parks. It was shared that these are not only "blue sky" concepts, but confirmed projects that have already begun development and we've got the breakdown for you!
EPCOT
- Spaceship Earth-Inspired Lounge | A futuristic lounge inspired by Spaceship Earth with a zen and elegant atmosphere. From what we can see from the concept art, there may be a view of the fireworks overlooking the World Showcase lagoon!
- Reimagined Test Track | Slated to reopen in 2025, the revamped Test Track will blend nostalgia with cutting-edge innovation. Six unique exhibits will be added, and new show scenes will emphasize the technology and the joy of mobility.
Magic Kingdom
- Villains Land | A highly requested land by Disney fans, Villains Land in Magic Kingdom will be a dark and thrilling land focused on Disney’s iconic villains, with two new attractions, shopping, and dining.
- Frontierland Expansions | Two new Cars-themed attractions will roll into Frontierland, providing fun for fans of the franchise, including an off-road rally race and a kid-friendly attraction as well. UPDATE: Rivers of America & Tom Sawyer Island will be reimagined with Cars Land attractions.
- Pirates Lounge | A new themed lounge inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, offering a unique atmosphere for relaxation.
- Nighttime Parade | A new evening parade will illuminate the Magic Kingdom, adding a vibrant close to the day. For those fans who have missed the popular Main Street Electrical parade that ended in 2016, this is a long-awaited announcement.
Animal Kingdom
- Indiana Jones | Another anticipated addition to the Disney World Parks, which has been a crowd favorite in Disneyland. The Indiana Jones-inspired attraction features the adventurous archaeologist.
- Encanto-Themed Area | Guests will be able to explore the world of Encanto, bringing the magic of the Madrigal family to life sure to be full of exciting details and color.
Hollywood Studios
- Monsters Inc. Land | A new area themed around Monsters Inc., featuring two attractions, including Disney’s first hanging roller coaster. Where will this new land be in this compact park? Disney fans are already speculating that it will replace the beloved favorite, Muppets Courtyard. Will this be the end to the last remaining nod to the Streets of America and Jim Henson's final released film - only time will tell.
BONUS! Disney Cruise Line
- Four New Ships: Expanding its fleet, Disney Cruise Line will introduce four new ships between 2027 and 2031, offering more magical journeys on the high seas, bringing the total to 13 ships in their fleet.
